Reflecting on her own journey and professional experience, Biz explains how early unmet emotional needs can lead to the development of protective parts—like the inner critic, the people pleaser, the hyper-vigilant watcher, and the perfectionist. These parts helped us survive difficult environments, but they may continue operating in ways that no longer serve us. Through IFS, we learn to meet these parts with compassion, helping them—and ourselves—feel safe, seen, and supported in the present.

Biz also connects emotional wounding to chronic health conditions, emphasizing how nurturing a kinder relationship with our inner parts can ease stress, reduce reactivity, and support overall well-being.
