Show Notes:

Our bodies change as we age. For many women, that means incontinence, discomfort during intercourse and other pelvic floor problems that we never want to talk about. So we suffer in silence and maybe lose touch with an important part of ourselves. It doesn’t have to be that way. In this episode of the Awaken Your Wise Woman (previously Woman Worriers) podcast, host Elizabeth Cush, LCPC, a licensed professional therapist, founder of Progression Counseling in Annapolis, Md., and a mid-life women’s life coach, welcomes Julie Blamphin, a certified pelvic floor yoga instructor and co-founder of Celebrate the Pelvic Floor, to talk about how this critical component of our core affects our well being and sense of self, and how using yoga and other techniques can strengthen our pelvic floor and help us get back in touch with our joyful, sexy selves.

Listen and learn:

  • The range of symptoms that may be related to pelvic floor instability

  • The prevalence of pelvic floor instability among women—and why it might be undercounted

  • The emotional impact of pelvic floor instability
